About Us
The Prince’s Initiative for Mature Enterprise is the only national organisation dedicated to providing everyone over 50, who is unemployed or under threat of redundancy, with the support to achieve financial, social and personal fulfilment through sustainable self-employment.
The Prince’s Initiative for Mature Enterprise (The Prince’s Initiative), a member of the Senior Enterprise programme, was established by HRH The Prince of Wales in response to letters he was receiving from people desperate to work but unable to find anyone to employ them – because of their age.
What we do
We support over 50s on their journey to self-employment through providing quality training products and services to support enterprise. The Prince’s Initiative support the over 50s through all stages of self-employment – pre start up, start up and getting going.
At The Prince’s Initiative we ensure that we only offer the best and most relevant services to our Clients.

The Prince’s Initiative exists to provide you with the competencies, confidence and courage to go on to set up your own business. If you want to become self-employed the best way to start your own business is to plan for it, and that is exactly what we can help you to do.
We have helped entrepreneurs all over the UK to set up their own businesses, through offering them online support, training at our courses, one to one advice from mentoring and the opportunity to talk about their small business ideas at our networking events.
